ANIMATION 20 provides students withl opportunities to explore animation and related technologies. This course provides students with the opportunity to become engaged in authentic and relevant learning opportunities in which to develop skills in computer animation. Animation 20 provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills necessary to develop a animated short. Students will learn how to plan their animation by creating a story outline, storyboard and script.

A major part of this course is character development. Students will learn what characteristics are necessary to create a realistic and appealing character. From this students will design then learn to rig their character in order to simplify motion over many frames. Lip sync and basic motion rules will be reviewed from animation 10

Film techniques related to animation including, basic camera angles and shot types, as well as the use of sound effects, music, and recorded dialogue, are investigated and applied in the creation of a final animated project.
